SATURDAY IN HOCKEY . . .
Former Senators goaltender Ray Emery was allegedly involved in yet another traffic violation Sunday night while driving his Hummer on Highway 416.
Grenville County OPP pulled over a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. when an officer spotted it going well in excess of the speed limit. The Hummer was impounded in Kemptville and Emery’s licence was suspended for one week.
Okay so if he was speeding as they say and it was so high that they gave him the new highway traffic act rule then so be it. But Emery has said before on TSN Off the Record that OPP have in the past picked on him pulling him over in excess of 30 times.
If that is true than can’t the cops find anything better to do than to pick on Ray Emery? What a joke the taxpayers money going to wasting their time on this type of stuff.
NHL GOALS OF THE WEEK
OHL PLAYOFFS A JOKE?
Sources from the OHL are saying that this years playoffs have been nothing short of a joke that is ruining the way the game is played in the OHL playoffs this season.
They say that the league has mandated the refs to call every little thing but more importantly you literally can’t make good clean solid hits without it being over called.
They say they are essentially eliminating the hits from the playoffs with players scared that any little aggression will put their team down. Players are unsure what they can do and what they can’t in this years OHL playoffs essentially making the game less competitive in the process.
For a league that calls themselves the top developer to the NHL they might want to rethink how they do things because one of the best times of the year in the NHL is the speed and hard hitting of playoff time.
Not to mention if you were an NHL GM why would you want your player to learn how to play the game one way in Junior only to have them shocked when they hit the ice in the NHL ?
BACK FIRED FOR FAN
A 52 yr old fan in Central Ohio was charged by police with making threatening phone calls to the Columbus Blue Jackets about standout goalie Steve Mason.
When they picked up the fan to arrest him he was wearing a Calgary Flames t-shirt, these calls reportedly were made before the Flames played in Columbus.
Well, the calls backfired for the fan of the Flames as Mason played one of his best games of the season shutting out the Flames 5-0. What an idiot this guy must be and shame on him living in Ohio cheering for the Flames anyways.
