NSH @ BUF : take Nash , the Preds are playing very well at the moment and Buf struggling all yr.

VAN @ CBJ : take Vanc , at home much better team , will bounce back, show they are top team.

ANA @ DET : take Det , like Det at home over the Ducks , but this will be a close game.

COL @ MIN : take Minny , Av’s have struggled to score and Min be very tough at home.

TOR @ LAK : Tor on a high with new GM Burke on the trip take the Leafs in this game.

NHL notes :

Sidney Crosby is really heating up, Sat nights 3 goal performance gives him 9 points in last 3 games and 34 points in 23 games so far this season. Crosby was playing hurt earlier in the season and was playing against Dr’s advice while doing it a source has said. I for one love that character and more players need to learn to play through injuries and stop missing games for nagging injuries. Big big props to Crosby for playing through injury .

Former Leafs, good guy Defenseman Luke Richardson has retired from the Sens and wants to get into coaching. He has had a long career in the NHL and would probably be a useful coach in the NHL for the Sens.

Just how many times is the Toronto media going to ask Leaf Domnic Moore the same question over and over about what he thinks of his new boss Brian Burke and his brother Steve former Colorado Av’s player that was injured in the incident with Todd Bertuzzi when Burke was the GM ? Enough already !!

Leafs Rookie Andrea Deveaux playing in his 2ND ever career game got a lesson in NHL fighting Saturday from Flyers Josh Gratton. Gratton who is one tough kid seemed to wear Deveaux down in the fight. Click on the video below to watch the fight.

Just how long is it going to take Brian Burke to make a deal for a NHL tough guy ? My guess is that it will be with in the next 5-7 days. This is Burke’s way , he likes to add that element when he gets to a team if its not in place. I’m sure the players in the meeting with Burke were motivated after to have a good game in front of their new boss.
